Probably Nothing

What are you showing me?
What have you done?
The tender diplomacy
Of what we’ve become
Where is it taking us?
What will we do?
Have you been chasing what’s
Been following you?

And I heard you say
It was probably nothing
And if you
Were honestly saying
That life is amazing
I would think it over

Where has the money gone
That they said that there’d be?
What are they hiding from
That they can’t let us see?
If you crave the impossible
And it doesn’t arrive
You can pay off the middlemen
But it won’t keep you alive

And I heard you say
It was probably nothing
And if you
Were honestly saying
That life is amazing
I would think it over

Where are they leading us?
What do they know?
What are they feeding us
When we’re too weak to grow?
Collective insanity
Well it’s too close to call
What is your plan for me
If you have one at all?

And I heard you say
It was probably nothing
And if you
Were honestly saying
That life is amazing
I would think it over
