Fire on the Mountain

I was an infant when he came for me
Last vestige of an ancient kingdom brought to its knees
And all they say here in his tower of stone
You need to know
You're not alone in your darkness
Though I was shattered by the blows he gave
You never know when distant enemies will come to your aid
And in the shadows of a dying sun
Your faith is strong
And help is on its way
And it stands to reason I was facing this alone
Standing on the steps of my ancestral home
The moment where you feel all hope is gone
It was fire on the mountain that told me it was worth holding on
He'd post a sentry standing watch at night
Always said I was his queen of darkness in his palace of light
And now we're gathered under cloudy skies
We don't know why
We see these signs from the outside
And it stands to reason I was facing this alone
Standing on the steps of my ancestral home
The moment where you feel all hope is gone
It was fire on the mountain that told me it was worth holding on
